Resident artist Chris Greene will be featured in The Saw Room September 2nd-30th. Landscape paintings in “A Thousand Miles Behind” depict recent works following Chris’s relocation from the Northeastern United States.
“As a child I would spend as much time outdoors as allowed. I believe this appreciation of nature led to a later affinity for the naturalistic paintings of the late 19th century. This influence is apparent, as I paint using traditional techniques, and strive to capture the subtle natural appearance of land and atmosphere in my work.
This group of paintings represent a reflection on my recent move to the Midwest from Boston, a trip of roughly a thousand miles. Landscapes of the Northeast are painted with a certain nostalgia, and of the Midwest with a sense of discovery and exploration.”
Join us for a reception with the artist Friday September 9, 5-8pm.
