Evanston Artist Dana De Ano will be showing 10 new pieces in The Saw Room entitled “Paramount” during Evanston Made month, June 3rd – 30th.
“Starting with a blank piece of paper, I break ground and lay an array of reclaimed materials to inhabit a rising landscape- a lost and found process, of sorts. I disappear into this imaginary world, imposing an atmospheric collection of embedded, sutured, burned, threaded, and cut throwaways between 2 ½ dimensions. Unloved plastics, discarded fabrics and ordinary scraps intimately collide with darkness and light, expanding the quiet tension that takes captive my daily experiences of chaos and rest.”
Opening reception with the artist is Friday, June 10th, 5-8pm.
